Sadly our beauty salon had to close as a result of the recession. We are planning on converting the existing space into a self-catering unit or to use it for accommodation for tour guides or drivers accompanying their guests.
Also due to the recession we had to cut back on staff and there are now a few new faces.
Our new secretary Adri Odendal is contributing valuable inputs and really enjoys working with our guests. She is a local lady and knows the area very well and will gladly assist in arranging trips or activities.
Our daughter Chelsea is still working at the lodge and can be seen in the kitchen most days. She is hoping to go overseas next year to broaden her horizons.
Our eldest daughter Julienne, is a final year medical student at the University of Stellenbosch – good luck for the last stretch Jules! Your parents are really looking forward to life after university!
Our house in Suiderstrand – we have hardly made any progress but are optimistic to get electricity in the near future. We have seen many snakes in Suiderstrand and had a close encounter with a big puffadder! Not very nice – all downstairs doors are kept closed now.
